Calling this truly gorgeous gray hued - and very attractive old piece rustic would be an understatement. I can imagine what that fireplace will look like when complete. Back in the 1800's, they cut this tree down, cause they wanted to make a barn; so they started forming the tree to make a beam - imagine the time and effort. This mantel beam comes an 1800's cattle barn that was located near the community of Princeton, Minnesota. Please click the photos for some close-ups of that incredible character like the mantel ends where there's a cool hole, insect holes and trails, ax marks, cracks, white wash markings, and those super knots; and that wonderful old growth patina.
