Gorgeous mantel made in the 1800's by a real hardworking crew that took turns on the ax. Elm wood is a strong and gnarly wood, they certainly earned their money. Now, it gets to live on in your home, through at least several generations, adorning your dream fireplace build. This mantel has some embedded whitewash patina coming through showing old growth patina. It comes from a mid 1800's milking barn that was located near the community of Belle Plaine, Minnesota and is over 150 years old. Please click the photos to get some close-ups.
